Corporation Manual

Corporations And Infrastructure

Corporations now control more than a roster. They coordinate logistics, bank together, influence territory, build finite ports, tune prices, manage access, post bounties, and automate local port supply.

Charters

Foundation

Founding

File a charter at a Stardock Government Office. Founding currently costs 150,000 credits.

Membership

A captain can belong to one corporation per universe. Neutral captains can join any corporation; good and evil captains cannot join opposing-alignment corporations.

Probation

New non-founder members enter a 72-hour probation period before sensitive controls such as treasury withdrawal, corporation Intel, planet management, mine recovery, and transfers unlock.

Roles

Founder has final authority. Officers can manage recruiting, settings, diplomacy, and approved treasury controls. Members handle normal shared operations after probation.

Shared Work

Operations

RosterShows role, XP, alignment, current sector, ship summary, probation state, and pending leave state.
TransfersTrusted same-sector members can transfer credits, fuel cells, drones, and cargo commodities including colonists.
MemosPersistent memos capture route notes, warnings, supply needs, defense plans, and diplomacy context.
AssetsCorporation-owned planets list sector, class, population, workers, stores, and a Manage action into the planet modal.
BankingAny member can deposit. Founder/officer withdrawals require completed probation and enough treasury balance.
DisbandSafe disband requires exact-name confirmation and is blocked by treasury credits, planets, minefields, or active bounties.

Relations

Diplomacy

Non-Aggression Pacts

Require proposal and acceptance. Active pacts block PvP attacks, planet invasions, and corporation mine targeting.

War

War declarations are unilateral, create public Communications activity, and replace existing pact state unless the pair is in peace cooldown.

Peace

Peace requires request and acceptance. Accepted peace starts a 72-hour cooldown that blocks hostile actions.

Public Signals

War, peace, bounty, charter, and conquest events make corporation politics visible outside private corporation screens.

Escrow

Bounties

Exit BountiesCorporation exit policy can fund persistent bounties from treasury when a member completes departure.
Personal WarrantsGood and neutral captains post warrants at Police Station against evil captains.
Tavern ContractsEvil captains post contracts in the Lost Trader's Tavern backroom against unprotected non-allied captains.
ClaimsConfirmed PvP ship destruction pays all eligible escrowed postings to the victor without charging the defeated captain again.

Territory Pressure

Corporation Influence

Influence is soft control, not an ownership flag. It is calculated from corporation planets, citadel levels, corporation minefields, and trusted-member recent presence, then spreads two lanes with falloff.

Local SourceCorporation planets, citadels, minefields, and member activity contribute local strength.
SpreadSources apply at full strength locally, 40% one lane away, and 15% two lanes away.
DominantA corporation is dominant at 25+ strength with at least a 10-point lead.
ContestedClose rivals with at least 10 strength create contested sectors.

Infrastructure

Corporation Ports

Corporation ports convert territory into finite market infrastructure. They are not unlimited resource faucets: inventory comes from a source planet, and purchases depend on port operating treasury.

Requirements

A corporation-owned planet with Citadel II, Warehouse II, dominant local influence, construction stores, no existing port or Stardock, and enough treasury.

Cost

Construction costs 125,000 corporation credits and reserves another 25,000 credits as operating treasury.

Specializations

Trade Exchange, Fuel Depot, Refinery, Agricultural Market, Industrial Fabricator, Black Market, and Logistics Warehouse.

Access

Base policies include public, NAP-allied, or corporation-only. Explicit allow/deny rules can override, with deny-first enforcement.

Officer Controls

Port Management

Tax And DiscountPublic purchase tax is bounded to 15%; member discount is bounded to 10%.
Target PricingOfficers can set commodity target baselines from 50%-200% of standard value or restore standard pricing.
Finite StockSelling markets pull finite inventory from the source planet; buying markets return excess inventory to planetary storage.
Local LogisticsOfficers can opt into same-sector port logistics with target, batch size, and interval controls.
No Self XPOwner-corporation sales do not award trade XP, preventing infrastructure loops from farming standings.
AuditConstruction, settings, stock movement, pricing, and access controls are transactional and audited.
